Night Shift Patient Care Assistant/Support Worker
Responsibilities
The PCA is an entry level position on duty who will have the primary focus of supporting patients in completing their evening and morning ADLs, meal support both with preparation, clean up and modeling good eating, providing support to the team and patients with any monitoring/support needed.
Exercises strong documentation skills and ability to use Electronic Medical Records program.
- Support shower time with stand by assist as patients getting ready at the beginning and end of the day.
- Take vital signs/or data enter vital signs
- Prepare, assemble, portion evening snack.
- Support patients with their eating.
- Eat with patients.
- Report information to the night nurse as needed.
- Answer patient questions or redirect to the appropriate person.
- Clean and sanitize patient areas.
- Check in on patients throughout the night.
- Change bed sheets and restock rooms with necessary supplies, as needed (usually done by housekeeping)
Requirements
- Active Driver’s License, Clean Abstract
- Awareness of drugs used in this population and their potential interactions and side effects
- Recognize, intervene, and respond to emergency situations by reaching out to the nurse on duty.
- Strong communication skills
- Training and/or experience in eating disorders and/or addictions is desired; or, we do train.

- Support patients with their eating.
- Eat with patients.
- Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses and doctors.
- Answer patient questions or redirect to the appropriate person.
- Clean and sanitize patient areas.
- Change bed sheets and restock rooms with necessary supplies, as needed
- Transport patients to appointments.
Strong communication skills are required for working with nurses on patients’ medical status and changes, and communication with peers and leadership. When not on duty, communication with peers and leadership is required. Available to fulfill additional shifts when needed.

Intern/ Volunteer
Responsibilities:
Potential to conduct non-clinical groups.
Supervises and participates by modeling good eating at snacks and meals.
Assist in supervision of outings
Participates in team meetings. Provides the team feedback on patient participation and behavior throughout the prior week.
Documents all group sessions daily into the electronic medical record.
Support patients in Activities of Daily Living functions.
Requirements
Degree in social work, psychology, therapy or equivalent education and life skills.
Ability to recognize, intervene, and respond to emergency situations.
Strong communications skills.

This is a temporary position for a duration of 4-8 weeks. Flexible start date.
